Centurions Flag Football Shut Out El Cajon Valley, 27-0

University City got themselves on the board early against El Cajon Valley on Thursday and never looked back, rolling to a commanding 27-0 victory. The shutout win marks the Centurions’ most decisive margin of the season.

The defense was relentless, forcing six interceptions on the night. Courtlyn Mitchell was a standout, snagging three picks—including one she returned for a touchdown. She also connected with quarterback Kianna Lefear on a 20-yard scoring play that capped the win. Lefear added two interceptions of her own, putting the Centurions firmly in control on both sides of the ball.

Head Coach Peters praised the team’s energy and execution: “This group is showing what happens when you trust each other and play with heart. Tonight was a big step forward, but the best is still ahead of us.”

With the victory, University City improves to 3-2 on the season. Up next, the Centurions will hit the road to face Scripps Ranch on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
