Centurions Flag Football Knock Off Falcons, 21-12

The University City Centurions earned their second straight win Tuesday night, defeating Scripps Ranch 21-12 to improve their record to 4-2 on the season.

Senior wideout Courtlynn Mitchell put on a show, hauling in 107 receiving yards and two touchdowns—her first multi-score performance since September of 2024.

The Centurions’ defense proved just as dominant. Joy Singleton led the charge up front with three sacks, while the unit as a whole took down the Falcons’ quarterback four times. Avi Schorr, Hayden Goldstein, and Kianna LeFear each snagged interceptions to halt Scripps Ranch drives and seal the victory.

“Tonight was a complete team effort,” said Head Coach Peters. “Our defense played with intensity and forced turnovers at key moments, and Courtlynn gave us a huge spark on offense. I’m really proud of the way this group is starting to find its rhythm.”

University City looks to keep the momentum going when they host Clairemont next Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.
