University City’s girls golf team took on Christian High at Torrey Pines on Tuesday, but with only four players available, the Centurions were forced to forfeit the match. Despite the short-handed lineup, senior Yuina Tanabe turned in her best round of the 2025 season.

Tanabe carded a 38 on the front nine, highlighted by five pars, three bogeys, and a birdie on the ninth hole to close out her round in style.

“Yuina played with great focus today, and finishing with a birdie on nine really showed her composure,” said Assistant Coach Asuncion. “Even though we were short-handed, our players continue to compete hard, and that speaks to their commitment to getting better.”
