Centurions Power Past Hoover With Season-High Score

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better. The University City flag football team showed exactly that on Tuesday night, defeating the Hoover Cardinals 31-12 for their third straight victory.
The Centurions (8-4) leaned on both sides of the ball to secure the win. Quarterback Kianna Lefear led the charge offensively, throwing for 181 yards and three touchdowns. She also made an impact on defense, contributing four tackles, a pass breakup, and an interception. Courtlyn Mitchell added two touchdowns of her own to keep the offense rolling.
Defensively, University City’s front created havoc all evening with four sacks. Joy Singleton was unstoppable, collecting three sacks to anchor a Centurion defense that consistently pressured the Hoover quarterback.
Head Coach Peters praised the group’s energy and balance in the win:
“This was a complete team effort. Everyone contributed, and it was great to see the girls execute at such a high level on both sides of the ball. We’re continuing to grow each week, and that’s what makes this team special.”
Lefear echoed that sentiment, highlighting the togetherness of the squad:
“It felt good to have a big game, but really it was about everyone stepping up tonight. I’m proud of how we supported each other and stayed focused. Wins like this show what we can accomplish together.”
With the win, University City improves to 8-4 and looks to keep their momentum rolling as the regular season winds down.
