Jillian Darnaud takes 2nd place in Eastern League Tournament for Singles
What a week for UCHS Girls Tennis!
Junior Jillian Darnaud made an incredible run to the Eastern League Tournament Singles Final, showing true Centurion spirit every step of the way.
As the #4 seed, Jillian battled past top-seeded Grace Elardo (Coronado) in a thrilling 1–6, 6–3, 10–7 semifinal victory before meeting #6 seed Khloe Payne (High Tech High) in a hard-fought championship match that went the distance, 0–6, 6–4, 6–3. Jillian finished as the Eastern League Singles Runner-Up, capping off an outstanding tournament run.
Coach Flores shared,
“I couldn’t be prouder of Jillian. She played with heart, composure, and courage, representing UCHS with incredible class. The way she battled back, set after set, showed the kind of competitor and leader she’s become; this is what Centurion tennis is all about.”
