The UCHS Girls Varsity Water Polo team opened league play in impressive fashion, defeating Mira Mesa by a score of 27–10 in their first league game of the season.

The win was a great way to kick off the new year and begin league competition, as the Lady Centurions set the tone with a strong all-around performance in the pool.

The team will be back in action Thursday at home against league opponent Point Loma.
JV begins at 3:00 p.m., followed by Varsity at 4:00 p.m., with games played at Standley.
