Friday Night Lights don’t get any bigger than this! Your University City Centurions (3-0) are back under the lights and ready to defend Centurion Stadium against the undefeated Mission Bay Buccaneers (3-0). Kickoff is set for 7:00 PM — and it’s a BLUE OUT! Wear your Centurion blue, pack the stands, and bring the energy to show off our school spirit!

 

Both squads come in red-hot and unbeaten, and something’s got to give.

The Centurions are averaging 41 points per game and nearly 500 yards of offense per contest. The one-two punch of Deshaun Hille on the ground (142 rushing yards per game) and QB Quentyn DeMara through the air (220 passing yards per game) has been tough for defenses to stop. Add in big plays from WR DJ Ferguson and a defense averaging 50 tackles per game, and UC has been firing on all cylinders.

Mission Bay has been equally impressive, averaging 40 points per game behind one of the most explosive passing attacks in the county. QB Trey Arnold is slinging it for over 330 passing yards a game, with WR Jayden Marcelino and company putting up video-game numbers. Their defense brings pressure too, averaging nearly 3 sacks per contest.

This matchup is a true clash of styles:

• UC’s balanced offense and physical defense vs. Mission Bay’s high-powered aerial attack.
• Undefeated vs. Undefeated.
• Pride, spirit, and Friday Night Lights.
